What we Do !
Here you will find information about our organization, goals,
projects, and services.  You will also find links to information on
our staff and board members.

PowerSource Tucson is dedicated to serving
those who are living with HIV/AIDS. Here is a list of some of the services we provide.

Programs and Projects
Women’s Center
Julie T was a founding board member of PowerSource Tucson. She died in 2014 due to complications of HIV. The women’s center will honor her memory. It will be a safe welcoming center for women living with HIV/AIDS. There will be workshops, computer access, reading room, and more for women to come together to support each other as we go through our life's journeys. If you would like to make a donation toward leasing and utilities, please use our Donate Here button above.
Holiday Luncheon
A holiday luncheon is held each December for PowerSource Tucson clients. We make it a special day for the ladies, with a wonderful meal served at her seat by a friendly and caring volunteer. Each attendee receives a gift and a “swag bag.” Can you help defray the costs? If you would like to contribute toward the Holiday Luncheon, please use our Donate Here button.
Send a Woman to Camp
PowerSource Tucson, Inc pays the registration fee for clients to attend the Strength for the Journey HIV retreat each May. We also provide free transportation. If you would like to help send a woman to camp, please use our Donate Here button.
For the Health of it
Due to medical complications of a compromised immune system, it is recommended we take multi-vitamins and specific supplements daily. Since these are OTC products not covered by most insurance, many women do not take them. These include a high potency multi-vitamin, Omega 3 and calcium supplements. If you wish to help us with this project, please use our Donate Here button.
The Next Step
The Next Step is a series of workshops developed in collaboration with local organizations in separate tracks. One is the Life Skills Module, including wellness, self-esteem and first aid/CPR training. The other is the Job Readiness Module, which includes basic computer skills, career options and updating professional skills. While grant funding is being sought, individual donations are welcomed. Just click our Donate Here button above.
Bridging the Gap
In fall 2016 a new project was funded to link newly diagnosed women to medical care. Non-medical case workers with be onsite at designated service sites to help women get into the care continuum. Each new client will also be offered all services of PowerSource Tucson.
Experience Counts
Plans for this yet unfunded program will involve a peer-to-peer mentorship to newly diagnosed women to include a workshop on what to expect with a new diagnosis, self-advocacy for care and other empowerment issues. Mentors, who are current PST clients, will receive a series of trainings including how to use software, best practices in working with clients, and more. Once training is completed and the trainee wants to continue, stipends will be offered for the peer work done.
